Two patient schools work on the basis of polyclinic: the schools of hypertensive patients and bronchial asthma patients. The classes are held weekly according to work plan. Training is conducted both in groups and individually.
The aims of patient school “Arterial hypertension” are to increase the educational level of the population in prevention and healthy lifestyle forming, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications and the death rate of hypertensive patients. Thematic lectures and classes are aimed at the training of practical skills of measuring the arterial pressure, sensible nutrition basics, physical and breathing exercises, and mutual assistance in cases of hypertensive crises.
The classes are held in the office №604 every Thursday:
- even numbers from 9.00 to11.00,
- uneven numbers from 16.00 to 18.00 .
The school of bronchial asthma patients is aimed at prevention of disease progression, prevention of exacerbations and complications, increasing the tolerance to physical training. The patients are taught to methods of disease self-control and the management of risk factors, which help to improve life level, and reduce the disability and the mortality of patients. The function of Asthma school is to form the concept of disease and possible complications, to assist in the elimination of the risk factors, primarily smoking. The patients are informed about the medicines used for treatment, taught with the methods of non-pharmacological therapy.
